The Governing Body of Woodlands Primary School wish to appoint inspirational, highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to work in their extremely successful and expanding Resource Provision. We are looking for individuals with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who will nurture our children, all of whom will attend the RP and have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

We want to work with individuals who will, as part of a fun-loving and dedicated team, provide an exciting, challenging and stimulating learning environment for our children. We want self-motivated and creative individuals capable of adapting to the specific learning needs of our children, with the support of our RP Teachers and SEND team, in a fun and caring manner.

The role will predominantly (initially at least) be in one of our RP classrooms, which serves the need of children, currently Reception to Y3, with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but the successful candidates should be willing to work flexibly with us, with the possibility of wider school experience and career development.

Our Headteacher is dynamic, forward-thinking, and very invested in staff as well as pupils, with a proven track record of enabling staff to achieve great things – the opportunities are endless in our school for continued professional development and career aspiration, for both individual and pupil benefit.

SALT/MAKATON experience, experience of ASD, and a recognised Paediatric First Aid qualification would be beneficial, but not essential. Experience of working in specialist provision would also be desirable.

The post is for 30 hours a week, 38 weeks per year. This post would initially be for a twelve-month period with a view to it being extended and hopefully made permanent. The post is subject to the statutory probationary period. Start date will be 1 September.

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for the post will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes including disqualification checks, online search and satisfactory references.

Closing date: Friday 29th May, 12 noon. Shortlisting: Monday 1 June 2026. Interviews: 10-11 June 2026.

Applications forms should be sent to the school address, or via email to admin@woodlands.cheshire.sch.uk. For further information please telephone the school on 0151 329 3164.
