Teaching Assistant KS1 with Midday Support

Grade 4 (£25,185 - £25,989 FTE, 39 weeks, pro rata)

Temporary to August 2027

To start September 2026 – 5 days a week (Mon-Fri 8.30am – 3.30pm)

The Governors and Headteacher of Whitby Heath Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 32.5 hours per week to start September 2025. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children across Key Stage 1 and will be enthusiastic, flexible and patient.

The role includes:

  • Working alongside the class teacher to support learning for all children
  • Supporting children with special educational needs
  • Supporting children with lunch and play at lunchtimes

A sense of humour is essential, as is the ability to work in a team and the willingness to adapt your practice to suit the children’s individual needs.

The position is offered on a temporary basis until the end of the summer term 2027. The position may be extended, funding permitting.
