Weaverham Forest Primary School & Nursery is seeking to appoint a committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs and help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

  • Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo to support pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs
  • Deliver targeted support for learning, communication, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Support inclusive classroom practice and small-group or 1:1 interventions
  • Implement strategies linked to EHCP outcomes, SEND support plans, and risk assessments
  • Contribute to a calm, nurturing learning environment that reflects our values of Respect, Honesty and Kindness

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience of working with children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
  • Be patient, flexible, and emotionally attuned to pupils’ needs
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and high expectations for all pupils
  • Hold relevant qualifications or be willing to undertake training (desirable but not essential)
