The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will play a key role in the pastoral and academic support of Secondary aged students who display challenging behaviour. This role will involve supporting individuals and groups both within lessons and delivering withdrawal interventions for targeted students and cover of lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
Due to the diverse nature of students, our school operates a number of different pathways to meet need. Our students are all unique and need to experience a range of different adults working with them; we don’t have a fixed model of the ideal person for this role, but sharing in our values is essential as is the ability to support students with their learning, social and behavioural needs.
The Bridge primarily caters for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. We are passionate about providing a second chance for students who have struggled in their education and putting them on a pathway towards future success. The work is challenging and requires someone who can maintain a focus on the best interests of the student while demonstrating flexibility and resilience under pressure.
