St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to join our team from 1st September 2026. This role will be based in Key Stage 2, supporting pupils in the classroom, including some support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils reach their full potential within a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-centred school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning within a Key Stage 2 classroom
  • Provide some targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies where required
  • Uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children
  • Has knowledge or experience of supporting children with special educational needs
  • Is patient, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting learning
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Will support and contribute to the Catholic life of the school
