The predicted salary is between 31650 - 43607 Β£ per year.

  • Teaching Assistant - Welfare
  • Grade 4: 17.5 hours per week. 3.5 hours a week morning 9am - 12.30pm
  • Initial placement in Early Years supporting a named child

We are seeking a caring, patient and attentive Welfare Assistant to support a child within our Early Years setting.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the child's safety, wellbeing and comfort throughout the school day, enabling them to access learning and play opportunities successfully.

  • The role will initially involve working closely with a named child and will include:
  • Supporting a child with eating and drinking throughout the day.
  • Ensuring the child's safety and wellbeing at all times, including close supervision both indoors and outdoors.
  • Supporting the child to move around the learning environment safely and reducing the risk of trips, falls and accidents.
  • Encouraging independence where appropriate whilst providing reassurance and support when needed.
  • Working alongside teaching staff and external professionals to implement personalised strategies that meet the child's individual needs.
  • Supporting the child's physical, emotional and social development through nurturing interactions and play-based activities.
  • Assisting with intimate care and personal hygiene when required.
  • Supporting the child during break and lunchtime periods.
  • Promoting positive relationships and helping the child engage with peers and learning activities.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young children.

You will have a calm, caring and nurturing manner, coupled with the ability to remain vigilant and responsive to a child's needs throughout the school day.

Experience of working with young children, particularly within Early Years, SEND or care-focused environments, would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player who shares our commitment to ensuring all children feel safe, valued and able to thrive.

This is a temporary contract linked to a named child.
