Blacon High School is seeking to appoint an ambitious, dedicated, and inspiring Teacher of English to join our successful and supportive English department. For the right candidate, this is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to take on a key leadership role within the team as a KS3 Co-Ordinator.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for English and a clear commitment to raising achievement for all students. They will work closely with the Head of Department to support the strategic development of the curriculum, drive high standards of teaching and learning, and contribute to the continued success of the department.
As KS3 Co-Ordinator, you will play a vital role in leading aspects of the department’s work, supporting colleagues, and ensuring that students are engaged, challenged, and inspired in their learning. You will also contribute to monitoring progress, developing resources, and maintaining a positive and ambitious culture within the team.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has a proven track record of strong teaching and student progress
- Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
- Has the ability to support and lead others effectively

This role is suitable for an experienced teacher ready to take the next step in their career or an existing middle leader seeking a new challenge. We would also consider applications from MPS/ECT without additional responsibility and TLR.
