The governing body of The Oaks Community Primary School are delighted to offer the opportunity for a creative teacher to join our supportive and well-led community school in September 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for our Reception crew. This vacancy is suitable for a main pay scale teacher who has a desire to fully embrace our school mission which is to 'make a difference'. This is a temporary position for one year, with the potential to extend further.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to motivate and challenge our children to achieve the highest possible expectations and the skills, drive and ambition to work within our outward facing school. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have strong behaviour management built on positive relationships and rooted in mutual respect.

At The Oaks Community Primary School, we place the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for this post will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be expected to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are shortlisted, we will take up references before the interview date. One of your references must be your current or most recent employer. Two satisfactory references must be received before we can confirm any offer of employment. The information we request will relate to salary, length of service, sickness and absence, conduct and performance.
On receipt of references your referees may be contacted to verify any discrepancies, anomalies or relevant issues as part of the recruitment verification process. In line with our safer recruitment policy, an online presence search will be undertaken if you are shortlisted. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS.
