The Governors of Horn’s Mill Primary School are excited to appoint a permanent Site Manager to join our hard working and passionate team. Our school needs an excellent manager to be responsible for our school’s safety, buildings and grounds. Our grounds are beautiful and include a large playing field, playground, woodland area, wildlife garden with pond, outdoor classroom, poly-tunnel and planters. We are passionate that our grounds provide an environment that visibly demonstrates our high standards across all that we do and equally allows our children the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy their time outside as much as they possibly can.

Inside our building, we are proud of the updates that have been made. Over the last 10 years there has been much modernisation to our school, including windows, roof and new external and internal doors. This continued strive for improvement sees a current building project that will provide us with a brand new classroom, and plans for new fencing around our school perimeter.

At Horn’s Mill we see all members of the team equally, and this role would see the successful candidate fully involved in all aspects of school life, including relationships with children and families. It is an opportunity to join a really strong, friendly and positive community. The successful candidate will work alongside school leaders to manage all issues relating to the continued improvement and security of the school site.

To gain a much clearer and detailed picture of the role, it is recommended that you visit the school on Thursday 4th June at 5pm OR Thursday 11th June at 9.30. This post is permanent and the new post holder would start as soon as possible after their appointment. The role is Monday to Friday, 11-6.30pm, but there is opportunity for some negotiation around these hours for the right candidate. We hope to plan timings so that the new member of the team can work alongside our previous Site Manager to enable an effective handover of the role and sharing of knowledge, expertise and on-going action plans.

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
