We are medium size GP Surgery right in the heart of a lovely community in-between Bounds Green and Wood Green. We have a warm and welcoming environment here and run the practice with an open and honest policy. Everyone is treated with respect and we see each other as family. We are looking for a Deputy Practice Manager as ours is due to retire in September. We would be willing to train up a Senior administrator/Reception Manager who has an interest in Managing and progressing their career in Primary Care.

The job is for 26 hours per week over 4 days with overtime available.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties include:

Deputising for the Practice Manager

Managing incoming Private work and distributing to Admin Support

Assisting GPs/Nurses with patient queries, referrals, patient tasks

Managing the Reception Team/Rota

About us

Friendly GP surgery in Wood Green/Bounds Green looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible part time Deputy Practice Manager to join their team. We are a medium sized GP surgery with 5 GPs, 2 Nurses and 3 pharmacists. We have a close knit Administration/Reception team of 7 that all work together to help run an efficient and safe service for our patients.

With most of us being long serving members of staff we are like a family, playing on each others strengths in order to get things done. Great communication and Teamwork is a must.

Job responsibilities

Job Description is varied but not limited to:

Deputising for the Practice Manager

Managing the Reception team/rota

Being on hand to support the Reception team with any queries/issues

Managing incoming private work and distributing to Admin Support team

Assisting GPs/Nurses/Practice Manager with patient queries, tasks, referrals and any other issues

Mentoring the junior members of the team

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience of working in a GP surgery
  • Experience in IT systems used within a GP Surgery
  • Experience with managing people
