Interim team manager role within the Education, Participation and Pupil Support Team, leading the attendance and children out of school team across Cheshire East. This post is fixed term initially for 6 months awaiting the exciting transformational changes in Children\’s Services in Cheshire East.

Exciting Opportunity: Lead the attendance and children out of school team across Cheshire East.
Leading a busy team to implement the local authority responsibilities for children out of school due to absence, elective home education, or missing education.
Agile working between our office base in Delamere House in Crewe, home, and Cheshire East schools with IT equipment provided to support agile working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting the decision-making around penalty notices and prosecutions.
- Ensuring the team delivers the expected statutory responsibilities in DFE Working Together to Improve Attendance guidance.
- Management oversight of allocation, case work, and closure with positive outcomes.
- Connecting with multi-agency partners to ensure attendance is everyone\’s business and make education a protective factor.
- Driving change around attendance for vulnerable children and young people.
- Traded service oversight and support.
