About the Role

Cheshire East Council is seeking a full time, experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our innovative and supportive Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional who is passionate about delivering high‐quality care and providing clinical leadership within a forward‐thinking team.

The post holder will be based in the East of the Council (Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Poynton and Knutsford) but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases in the Council. Cheshire East Council operates a 'flexible and mobile' working policy and hybrid working is available, with the main base being at Macclesfield Town Hall, with Hubs available within the community.

You will provide clinical leadership and guidance to team members, supporting day‐to‐day decision‐making and ensuring high standards of practice. You will offer expert advice on Care Act responsibilities, Disabled Facilities Grants, adaptations, safe moving and handling, and assistive technology. You will support colleagues with triage, assessments, and interventions for adults with physical, learning, or mental health needs impacting their independence. You will work collaboratively with health and social care partners to develop innovative solutions that maintain safety and independence for service users. You will contribute to training, supervision, and professional development, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. You will maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in line with Council policies and professional standards.

About you

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with substantial experience in health and social care settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
  • A proactive, strengths‐based approach to care and a sound understanding of a wide range of conditions and their impact on daily living.
  • Confidence in working autonomously while promoting collaborative working across multi‐disciplinary teams.
