An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Ranger Team at Tatton Park as an assistant ranger.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to assist in all aspects of estate operations and maintenance, including visitor management, livestock management, planning and implementing events, and supporting the various teams based within Tatton Park. Assistant Park Rangers report directly to the Park Rangers; the role involves working a shift pattern that includes regular weekends. Responsibilities

  • Undertake all aspects of visitor management to deliver consistent and effective visitor services.
  • Undertake all aspects of stock management to ensure the health and good condition of Tatton’s livestock.
  • Provide support and assistance with the implementation and delivery of educational/interpretive programmes and events to maximise the quality of experience for visitors and parties.
  • Implement programmes of events and activities, both informal and structured, to encourage participation in countryside recreation and leisure activities.
  • Carry out work programmes and land management operations to ensure that all aspects of the estate and its premises are managed to the highest standards of presentation and maintenance, including toilets, visitor areas, car parks, stable yard, roads, paths, footways, etc.
  • Implement management policies, operational procedures and regulations to ensure the security of the estate and the health and safety of visitors, staff and livestock.
  • Maintain and store vehicles, repair machinery, equipment and materials to ensure they are operated, utilised and maintained to high standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Assist with Duty Ranger functions when required, including cash transport, security of the estate and response to incidents to ensure the highest standards of delivery of Tatton’s Visitor Services.
  • Maintain records and submit reports where required to provide effective communication of information to colleagues and management.
