An opportunity has arisen for a temporary, full time Admin Assistant to join our friendly team at Cheshire East Council's home to school administration team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated employee who will play a key role in the daily operational activities of this busy service.
About the Role
You will work within a team and provide administrative support to officers who plan and co-ordinate assisted home to school transport for students that attend mainstream and special schools, some of whom have complex and special needs. In this diverse and interesting role, you will be dealing with a range of people on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities
- Answering calls and managing email enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Processing invoices, requiring a high level of attention to detail and confidence working with financial systems.
- Prioritising workload, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively with both internal teams and external contacts.
Qualifications
We are interested in receiving applications from people who possess an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Finance and have previous experience of working within a busy office environment. Effective IT skills and being fluent in Microsoft Office is essential as well as the ability to have attention to detail and accuracy.
About You
The ideal candidate will be confident in communicating with a wide range of people, both in person and over the phone, and will demonstrate a professional, helpful attitude at all times. You’ll be the first point of contact for many enquiries, so a friendly manner, patience, and the ability to resolve queries efficiently are essential.

For the purpose of the role, it is desirable that the jobholder holds a full clean driving licence.
