Join Cheshire East’s Highway Client Team to manage the council’s Highway Service Contract and collaborate with our service provider to improve highway services in the borough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day commercial management of the contract with the Highways service provider, including cost management, issuing task orders and instructions, and responding to early warning notices and compensation events.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and deliver value for money for the Council.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and value‑for‑money in partnership with the service provider.
  • Develop time and cost related performance measures with the wider Highway Client Team and report on any identified issues.

Qualifications

  • Grows to 39 days after five years of service.
  • Option to purchase up to 10 extra days of annual leave each year (pro‑rata for part‑time staff).
  • Flexible working pattern – 37‑hour standard full‑time work week with flexitime and hybrid/remote arrangements where possible.
  • Enhanced public pension – career average pension with contributions built at a rate of 1/49th of yearly pensionable pay.
