This post will provide you with an excellent opportunity to progress your career and will offer you a wide range of experiences within Adult Social Care services. This is a vacancy for a confident and well round individual who will support self-funded residents within Cheshire East Council, alongside a dedicated Finance Officer.

The candidate will be based at either Macclesfield Town Hall and will be pivotal in providing, advice, support and assistance to those residents who have capital and assets above £23,2500 and are wanting to make decisions about their long-term care needs. This maybe a face-to-face meeting, teams meeting or telephone consultation.

The Community Teams provide support for any adults over the age of 18 years and includes those with a learning disability, autism, mental health concerns, physical disabilities and older people This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Assessor to develop new and innovative ways of working and it is therefore essential that you have an appropriate Heath & Social care qualification and experience of adult social care and be able to work under pressure. The successful applicant will need to be able to adopt a flexible approach to their work and be a good team player. Hybrid working of being home or office based are available. Having a car is a necessity as you will be expected to undertake visits and attend training sessions.

Cheshire East Council (CEC) is looking for a temporary full time self-motivated Social Care Assessor to join our innovative and friendly Adult Social Care Teams on a new and exciting project. This is a temporary post initially for a period of 12 months and will be reviewed as required., * An enthusiastic Social Care Assessor who has an understanding of adult social care, mental capacity and safeguarding issues.

• The candidate should be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and work autonomously within Adult Community Services.

• You will need to have good organisational and time management skills as this is key to effectively managing caseloads.

• The candidate should have an understanding of asset and strengths-based support and be able to remain calm in a variety of situations.

• It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within the Council’s policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive client documentation.

The post holder will be based at Macclesfield Town Hall but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases.
