With a new Leader and Deputy Leader, and a new Chief Executive in place, the council is embarking on a major reset to ensure our financial sustainability and protect essential services – creating a council that is fit for the future and that can continue to deliver our ambitions for the borough.
This includes recruiting a new team of outstanding senior officers who will play a fundamental role in our transformation journey and make a huge impact across the council and the borough.

This role will provide strategic leadership and management for a range of important front line services including waste, public protection, libraries, and planning, as well as ensuring the council has effective customer operations in place. Cheshire East is a borough with fantastic assets, great connectivity, and huge potential for growth. With our proximity and links to Merseyside, Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire, and the West Midlands, and strong rail and road networks, we are a pivotal ‘gateway’ for the North.
Our new Director of Planning and Environment will report to our newly appointed ED Place and lead a large directorate focused on delivering excellent services to communities as well as supporting growth and development.
