Overview
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic social workers to join our teams across Cheshire East, who want to make a difference to the lives of children and their families. Applications are invited from qualified social workers who are registered or awaiting registration with Social Work.
Our Social Workers are essential in supporting Cheshire East\βs vulnerable children, from pre-birth to age 18. We have teams across Cheshire East where we are able to match families with your expertise and chosen patch, encompassing areas like Crewe, Macclesfield, Knutsford and Holmes Chapel.
We prioritise flexibility, offering various work locations and hotdesking opportunities to facilitate collaboration with safeguarding teams and services and to ensure that we build strong connections.
Responsibilities
- Work with Cheshire East\βs vulnerable children from pre-birth to age 18, matching families with your expertise to your chosen patch (e.g., Crewe, Macclesfield, Knutsford, Holmes Chapel) across Cheshire East.
- Collaborate with safeguarding teams and services to provide consistent, relationship-based support.
- Be part of a team that includes ASYE, experienced social workers, family support workers and an Advanced Practitioner, alongside a team manager.
Requirements / Qualifications
A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East\βs rural nature. Applications are invited from qualified social workers who are registered or awaiting registration with Social Work.
Pay and Benefits
Pay scales range from grade 8 (starting at SCP 27) to grade 9 for this role depending on experience:
- Grade 8 β Β£37,035 β Β£37,938 β Newly Qualified
- Grade 9 β Β£37,938 β Β£40,476 β 2 years post qualification
We also pay a retention payment from Year 2 for Social Workers in our Children in Need and Child Protection, Children with Disabilities and C4 teams.
