We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our design team. We are a 30-year-old family business with a strong pipeline and a modern setup in Birchwood. Gateway 2 is changing our industry and we are investing heavily in design, compliance and people to stay ahead and keep raising standards. We operate from a modern facility with proper fabrication equipment, dedicated design space, and an onsite gym for the team. We also take sustainability seriously and are improving our environmental impact across vehicles, recycling and fabrication processes as we grow.
The CAD Technician role is hands-on and suited to someone who cares about detail and wants to develop in a technical environment. You will work closely with the design manager, project teams and fabrication to produce accurate drawings for aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling systems.
What you will do:
- Prepare fabrication and installation drawings for aluminium systems
- Work closely with senior designers, PMs and fabrication
- Update drawings based on site information and technical feedback
- Assist with schedules, technical data and compliance documentation
- Support design coordination with architects and main contractors
- Learn systems details and standards and keep improving
What we are looking for:
- Experience in CAD drawing (AutoCAD essential)
- Ideally experience in aluminium systems or another technical construction environment
- Good attention to detail and pride in accuracy
- Organised, reliable and willing to learn
- Comfortable communicating with project and site teams
- Someone who wants to develop into a strong façade designer
