Location: Castle Quay, Banbury

Position: Apprenticeship – 18 months, full-time, 37 hours per week.

Salary: £15,975.00 per annum (Grade: Apprenticeship)

The Job: Cherwell District Council is situated in the town centre at the Cherwell District Offices, which is in the historic market town of Banbury, in Oxfordshire. The apprenticeship will teach you a range of skills as well as getting a Level 4 Sports Coach (Foundation Degree) with Ignite where you will gain valuable experience coaching in schools and the community. Working with our Leisure Facilities team you will also gain an understanding and experience of the day-to-day running of our leisure facilities. This post will be led by the Senior Youth Activators; you will join the Activator team and take on a wide range of opportunities in supporting, running and leading in the range of different sporting programmes the Activators deliver. It is a great opportunity to learn and develop your coaching skills whilst working with a great company of people. We are friendly and dedicated teams and highly regarded for our presence in the community. Our purpose is to provide the residents of Cherwell with quality opportunities for people to be active. Keeping Cherwell active will meet the Council’s aims and priorities. We invest in our staff through training and development. We are supportive of our staff and their needs. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

The Person: We are looking for an ambitious individual who is wanting to further their knowledge and has an interest in sports development and coaching, physical activity, health and wellbeing and leisure facilities.
