We're looking for an ambitious and experienced Capital Estates Regeneration Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-profile capital investment and regeneration projects that make a real difference to our communities.
This is a unique opportunity to drive projects that transform places, improve public assets, unlock investment and support economic growth, while helping deliver the Council's climate change commitments and journey to net zero.
The Role
You'll take projects from concept to completion, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholders and ensuring successful delivery against programme, budget and quality objectives.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and delivery of capital estates and regeneration projects from inception through to completion.
- Manage project budgets, programmes, business cases, risks and performance.
- Act as the Council's client representative, overseeing consultants, contractors and professional advisors.
- Drive project governance, procurement and contract management activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, funders and community stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports and business cases to senior leaders and elected members.
- Identify opportunities for investment, innovation and service improvement.
- Champion sustainability across all projects, delivering schemes that support the Council's climate change strategy, carbon reduction targets and net zero ambitions.
- Ensure projects maximise social value, environmental benefits and positive outcomes for local communities.
About You
You are an experienced project manager with a track record of delivering complex capital, property, estates or regeneration projects.
You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy solving problems and have the confidence to lead projects that leave a lasting legacy.
You'll bring
- Significant experience managing major capital or regeneration projects from concept to completion.
- Strong project, programme, financial and risk management skills.
- Experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A strong understanding of procurement, contract management and project governance.
- Experience embedding sustainability objectives into projects, including decarbonisation, energy efficiency, biodiversity enhancement and climate resilience.
- Knowledge of how property, regeneration and capital investment programmes can contribute to climate action and net zero outcomes.
- The ability to identify and deliver opportunities that reduce carbon emissions and improve asset performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
Professional membership or accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, APM, PRINCE2, MRICS or MAPM and experience within local government, the public sector or a regeneration‑focused environment would be advantageous.
