Cherubim Healthcare Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Field Care Supervisor to join our domiciliary care team in Carlisle. The Field Care Supervisor will work closely with the Registered Manager, Care Coordinator and care team to ensure that people using our services receive safe, effective, person-centred and reliable care in their own homes. This is a hands-on role combining field-based supervision, quality assurance and care delivery. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards across the service and supporting carers to deliver care in accordance with individual care plans, risk assessments and company procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out staff spot checks and competency observations in the community.
- Completing staff supervisions and supporting ongoing staff development.
- Monitoring the quality and standard of care being delivered.
- Supporting care plan and risk assessment reviews.
- Conducting service-user quality assurance visits and obtaining feedback from individuals and families.
- Supporting new staff during induction and shadowing.
- Monitoring staff practice in areas including medication, infection prevention and control, moving and handling, personal care, dignity and record keeping.
- Identifying poor practice or areas requiring improvement and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Supporting investigations into incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns where required.
- Checking care records and ensuring documentation is accurate, detailed and completed appropriately.
- Supporting the coordination team with maintaining continuity and reliability of care.
- Providing care to service users when required, including supporting with emergency or unexpected cover.
- Participating in the on-call rota where required.
- Working collaboratively with service users, families, healthcare professionals, social workers and other professionals.
- Promoting the dignity, independence, choice, safety and wellbeing of people receiving our services.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience working in domiciliary/home care.
- Good understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding.
- Experience supporting and supervising care staff.
- Good knowledge of medication management, infection control and safe care practices.
- Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to identify concerns and take appropriate action.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a management team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Field Care Supervisor, Senior Carer or similar role.
- Experience completing care assessments, reviews, spot checks and staff competency assessments.
- Experience using electronic care management systems.
