About the Role
We are recruiting a talented Junior Sous Chef to join a premium, farm-to-fork gastro site in Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work with exceptional fresh ingredients, sourced locally and seasonally, within a highly respected and stable hospitality business that genuinely invests in its people. You'll work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, helping to deliver outstanding food while developing your leadership and creative skills in a supportive, professional kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Lead and motivate junior chefs during service
- Assist with menu development using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are always met
- Help manage stock control, ordering, and wastage
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and ambitious kitchen culture
About You
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a fresh-food environment
- Passionate about farm-to-fork cooking and high-quality produce
- Strong organisational skills and calm under pressure
