About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to join Cherry Ventures on a fixed‑term basis to cover maternity leave. This role sits at the heart of our platform and community efforts and is responsible for delivering a high‑quality portfolio of events for founders, investors, and partners. You will take full ownership of Cherry’s events programme during the maternity cover period, ensuring continuity, operational excellence, and thoughtful execution across our flagship events, intimate gatherings, and portfolio‑facing initiatives. This is a part‑time role (3 days per week), ideal for a senior events professional looking for meaningful, high‑impact work with flexibility. Fixed‑term maternity cover (12 months) expected start approximately one month prior to the incumbent’s leave to allow for handover and shadowing. Exact start date is flexible; early March start preferred.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Event Planning & Delivery: Own the end‑to‑end planning and execution of Cherry Ventures’ events programme, including conferences, networking events, investor meetings, portfolio showcases, and community gatherings. Lead all event logistics, from venue sourcing and scheduling to guest management and on‑site coordination. Manage event budgets, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost‑effective delivery without compromising on quality. Track event outcomes and produce post‑event evaluations with clear insights and recommendations.
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with portfolio founders, investors, partners, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate closely with internal teams across investment, communications, operations, and finance to ensure events align with Cherry’s strategic priorities and brand. Represent Cherry Ventures professionally at selected industry and portfolio events.
- Operations & Administration: Manage external partners, including agencies, freelancers, venues, and suppliers. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date event records, including attendee lists, budgets, contacts, and outcomes. Handle all administrative aspects of event management and reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in event management, event production, community, or investor‑facing environments.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams confidently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A strong eye for detail and quality, with a creative approach to event design and execution.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, high‑trust environment.
- Experience in venture capital, startups, or finance is a plus, but not essential.
Why Cherry Ventures
- High impact, low bureaucracy: You’ll have full ownership of the events programme and the autonomy to execute at a high standard.
- Senior, flexible role: A genuinely part‑time position with meaningful responsibility, well‑suited to experienced professionals.
- Exceptional network: Work closely with some of Europe’s most ambitious founders, investors, and operators.
- Collaborative culture: A small, high‑calibre team that values trust, clarity, and thoughtful execution.
- Well‑supported transition: A structured handover period to set you up for success.
