The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and dedicated to making a difference to children's learning. You will need to enjoy working with children and be passionate and committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals. This role will help support pupils to access all aspects of learning and self‑help skills. You will work closely with class teachers and phase leaders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • You will need to have a NVQ level 3 and a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (C or above) with a high standard of written and spoken English.
  • First‑Aid qualifications would be desirable.
  • Is a committed practitioner with high expectations of our children and of themselves.
  • Is passionate about teaching and learning and has the ability and dedication to become an outstanding member of our team.
  • Is hardworking, a team player and has a sense of humour.
  • Is able to work on their own initiative and manage and organise their time effectively.
  • Can confidently communicate with parents, carers and class teachers to keep them informed of a child's/pupil's academic and emotional progress.
  • Possesses strong English and Maths subject knowledge to effectively support learning in Upper Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrates adaptability by responding to children's needs and adapting support in the moment.
  • Shows willingness and the capability to plan and run targeted small‑group interventions.
  • Communicates confidently and clearly to set high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Understands that building positive relationships is the foundation for student success.

Working Hours & Expectations:

This permanent position will be for a total of 30 hours per week (08:45 - 15:15 with a 30‑minute break). You would be expected to attend all INSET days.
