Cherry Professional are currently working with a market leading FMCG company, specialising in Food Manufacturing. They are looking for a Production Manager to join their close knit and thriving team. Responsible for production shifts, effectively and efficiently managing the resource and ensuring best use of people, plant and materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily work schedule is implemented effectively in accordance with agreed plan.
  • Manage availability of labour, raw materials and machinery to achieve desired plans.
  • Ensure all product produced is aligned with our food safety standards, and are delivered on time, and without damage, to our customers.
  • Ensuring GMP is always at ‘green’ level, strict hygiene and housekeeping practices must be followed at all times.
  • Ensuring working areas, process and documentation are working to the relevant audit compliance levels.
  • Capturing product efficiencies and product traceability, instant challenge if processes not adhered to.
  • Daily review of yield data, waste streams and energy and ensure these metrics are effectively and accurately recorded and captured efficiencies to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead daily Tier 1 meetings and SIC hourly whilst engaging with the team.
  • Work in alignment with the site management teams on active continuous improvement projects, delivering company’s policies and strategy goals.
  • Ensure that all people are trained on tasks carried out with appropriate records and no exceptions.
  • Carry out regular independent inspections of workplace to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with H&S guidelines.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in deploying lean ideally within the food manufacturing FMCG short shelf life.
  • H&S Qualification IOSH.
  • Training qualification EAT equivalent.
  • Food safety level three.
  • Good standard of spoken & written English which will allow written instructions to be read & effectively communicated.
  • Solid level of numeracy – able to calculate & interpret shift KPI performance.
  • Ability to influence and motivate and embed a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ability to confront issues, opportunities and others with logic with all levels of the business.
