The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take full ownership of divisional financial performance. You’ll play a key role in enhancing financial clarity, strengthening controls, improving reporting processes, and acting as a true business partner to operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial performance cycle for the division, ensuring accurate reporting, meaningful analysis, and timely delivery of results.
  • Develop a clear understanding of project and product profitability by analysing cost behaviour and identifying performance trends.
  • Strengthen financial governance by ensuring key balance sheet areas are well‑maintained and reconciled.
  • Provide insight and challenge to operational stakeholders, helping them understand financial drivers and make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with production, supply chain, and commercial teams to translate operational activity into financial impact.
  • Support the development of financial plans by preparing forecasts and budgets that reflect both current performance and future ambitions.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory obligations, acting as a point of contact for regulatory matters.
  • Drive ongoing improvements across financial systems, reporting tools, and internal processes.
  • Evaluate business cases for investment, assessing financial benefits, risks, and long‑term returns.
  • Compile and present performance insights for senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and narrative trends.
  • Liaise with auditors and external advisors to ensure smooth year‑end processes and accurate submissions.
  • Contribute to wider finance initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and elevating the financial capability of the division.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
  • Manufacturing experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel capability and experience working with robust finance systems.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Skilled communicator who can partner with non‑finance colleagues.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Hands‑on approach with an eagerness to drive improvement.
