My client is a growing property investment group with a portfolio spanning commercial and residential property, alongside several related businesses in entertainment and storage. Reporting across six key entities, our small and friendly finance team plays a vital role in supporting our continued growth.
The Opportunity
This is an ideal role for someone early in their finance career — AAT students, recent AAT completers, or early‑stage ACCA / CIMA candidates looking to broaden their experience and progress towards management accounting. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll gain exposure to monthly reporting, reconciliations, fixed assets, and general finance operations. Support for your studies is offered to complement the help and development you’ll receive at a steady, sustainable pace.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Carrying out monthly reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, intercompany)
- Assisting with month‑end processes: accruals, prepayments, journals
- Supporting year‑end audit preparation
- Handling day‑to‑day tasks including filing, invoicing, and admin support
- Working flexibly across the team, helping cover tasks as needed
As your confidence grows, you’ll gradually take on more elements of the monthly management accounts over a 6–24 month development pathway.
What We’re Looking For:
- AAT level student/completer or early ACCA
- Solid grasp of debits/credits and general accounting principles
- Comfortable using Excel (lookups, pivots)
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team‑first approach
- Someone who enjoys working in a small, collaborative office environment
- Reliable, adaptable, and happy to contribute wherever needed
This role is perfect for someone who wants to build in their already strong foundational experience and stay in an assistant‑level position for a couple of years as they develop.
Why Join Us?
- Full study support (AAT/ACCA/CIMA), including exam funding + paid exam days
- Clear training plan with steady progression into management accounting
- Supportive team environment with hands‑on guidance
- Office‑based role with parking provided
