Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional looking for a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced operational environment?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and highly successful leisure business seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support compliance, risk management and operational safety across a busy multi‑site operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and operational assurance are maintained across the sites.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits
  • Identifying risks, compliance issues and areas for improvement
  • Tracking and following through corrective actions to completion
  • Maintaining statutory inspections, certifications and compliance records
  • Supporting incident investigations, near miss reporting and accident management
  • Assisting with contractor management, permits to work and RAMS reviews
  • Supporting fire safety arrangements, emergency planning and evacuation drills
  • Developing and reviewing risk assessments, procedures and safety documentation
  • Coordinating compliance actions arising from insurers, audits and inspections
  • Producing regular Health & Safety reports and management information
  • Working closely with operational teams while providing independent compliance oversight

Skills and Experience

We're looking for a resilient and organised Health & Safety professional who enjoys working in a busy environment and has the confidence to challenge where necessary.

You will ideally have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Previous Health & Safety experience within a busy operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, risk assessments, incident management and corrective action tracking
  • Excellent organisational and reporting skills
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of processes and outcomes
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Backgrounds Considered

Experience from any safety‑critical or highly regulated environment will be considered, including:

  • Construction
  • Aviation
  • Recycling and waste management
  • Manufacturing
  • Utilities
  • Infrastructure or framework‑based environments
  • Health & Safety consultancy

Experience within leisure, attractions, entertainment or hospitality environments would be advantageous but is by no means essential.

Desirable

  • Fire Safety qualification or experience
  • Membership of IOSH, IIRSM or a similar professional body
  • Experience supporting insurer audits, compliance reviews or regulatory inspections
  • Exposure to contractor management and permit‑to‑work systems

This role would suit a Health & Safety professional who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, enjoys being visible on site, and takes pride in driving compliance, accountability and continuous improvement.
