My client is a market‑leading wholesaler within their product specialism supplying major global retailers. Recently acquired, the business is undergoing significant transformation — combining the culture of a family‑run £18m turnover operation with the pace, structure and demands of a global parent group.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, high‑impact Finance Manager role at a pivotal moment for the business.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a nearly qualified or recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) looking to step up into their first Finance Manager position. It will particularly suit a strong Management Accountant who’s ready for more ownership, leadership and influence.
You’ll report locally to the COO and directly into the UK Head of Finance (Manchester‑based), giving you both day‑to‑day visibility and strategic exposure within the wider group.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of local finance operations while driving much‑needed change across processes, controls and systems. Responsibilities include:
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Deliver accurate monthly management accounts by working day 3.
Oversee all balance sheet reconciliations.
Produce weekly aged debtors with commentary for directors.
Prepare aged creditors and inventory reports.
Support annual budgets, forecasts and year‑end financial statements.
Ensure compliance across VAT, NI, PAYE and group reporting standards.Business Partnering & Transformation
Act as a strong business partner across departments during a period of significant process and system development.
Lead finance‑driven change initiatives to modernise processes and improve controls.
Work closely with the UK HoF and Group Finance to meet demanding reporting and quality expectations under the group structure.Team Leadership
Oversee, mentor and develop a growing local finance team:
1 x Assistant Accountant
1 x Sales Ledger Clerk
Build capability, confidence and high standards across the function.External Relationships
Liaise with auditors and ensure smooth year‑end preparation.
Coordinate with the Slovakia accountant for group consolidation.Who We’re Looking For
