Cherry Professional are currently recruiting for an experienced and pragmatic Engineering Project Manager to join a well-established team and take ownership of exciting projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. What you'll be doing:

  • Managing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost control
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, financial forecasts, and risk logs
  • Collaborating with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to drive project success
  • Handling project variations, resource allocation, and reporting to senior management
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in engineering project management, preferably in automation or control panel build
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and certifications in Prince2, APM PMQ, or APM Agile
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 15%) for client meetings, installations, and commissioning

  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in line with customer expectations
  • Develop and maintain project plans, forecasts, and actual cost tracking
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, maintaining a risk management log
  • Manage project variations, maintaining a change log and collaborating with Sales on cost impacts
  • Provide regular reports to senior management and contribute to portfolio reporting
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure design, build, test, and installation meet specifications
  • Assign and manage work allocation while resolving resource constraints
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external project-related matters
  • Review and approve customer proposals, ensuring feasibility in terms of cost, time, and resources
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices in project management
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Assess risks, implement safe work methods, and ensure competency in tasks
  • Ensure that project activities do not compromise the safety of staff, contractors, passengers, or the public
  • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring compliance with safety policies
  • Participate in company safety briefings and ensure team engagement in safety practices
