Job Description

Management Accountant | Based in Nottingham | £45 – 50k plus benefitsAre you a commercially sharp finance professional who thrives on turning numbers into strategic insight? Do you enjoy leading a small team, managing the day-to-day financials, and influencing wider business decisions? If so, an established and growing organisation in the East Midlands is seeking a confident and technically strong Management Accountant to join their finance team.This is a fantastic opportunity to be the number 2 to the Financial Controller and take ownership of core finance operations. You’ll work across departments to support profitability decisions, ensure accurate reporting, and help modernise finance processes. If you enjoy a blend of month-end delivery, commercial analysis, and process improvement – this could be your next step.The Role:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis
  • Deliver consolidated monthly reporting and cashflow forecasting
  • Manage payroll processes (weekly & monthly) with accuracy and efficiency
  • Lead product costing and gross margin analysis to support pricing and profitability
  • Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis
  • Support budget planning, forecasting cycles, and year-end audit preparation
  • Supervise and develop the Assistant Management Accountant
  • Champion continuous improvement and help enhance financial systems and reporting

About You:

  • You’ll be a Qualified or Part-Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • You bring strong technical accounting and analytical skills, with great attention to detail
  • You’re confident working with stakeholders across finance and operations
  • You’ll have experience managing payroll and producing management accounts
  • You’re hands-on, process-driven, and always looking to improve how things are done
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and with Sage 200 would be advantageous
