We’re on the lookout for a Management Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team in Derby, with a clear route to Head of Finance within 2 years. This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional ready to step into a broader leadership role, gain strategic exposure, and fast-track their career in a growing business.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the month-end reporting process including P&L prep, journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead cashflow management, monthly reconciliations, and inter company recharges.
- Maintain core financial systems: Sales & Purchase Ledgers, Fixed Asset Register, and Cash Book.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Supplier Payment Runs.
- Support and review payroll including year-end payroll reporting (P60s, P11Ds).
- Assist with year-end accounts, tax returns, budgets, forecasts, and rolling forecasts.
- Lead a small finance team (2 direct reports), driving training, support, and development.
- Identify opportunities to improve controls and processes, and champion best practices.
- Act as a key liaison with senior management and Head Office stakeholders.
