Cherry Professional are delighted to be recruiting for a HSE Manager. You will be responsible for actively promoting high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance at all levels within the business. Ensuring all risks related to Health, Safety and Environmental matters are understood, documented and have suitable and sufficient controls in place to minimise those risks.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the business maintains compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislation.
- Manage and maintain up to date policies, procedures, systems and data related to HSE that are understood and adopted across site operations.
- Ensure site-wide surveillance walk rounds are conducted and support manager and staff with process and compliance auditing.
- Advise management and staff on Health, Safety and Environmental matters arising in day to day operations.
- In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager, maintain Customer and Third Party approvals (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001).
- Ensure Health and Environmental Monitoring is carried out in accordance with company policy.
- In collaboration with process owners, ensure Safe Operating Procedures are completed and made available to employees at point of use.
- Ensure all accidents are recorded and fully investigated and that effective actions and controls are implemented to support learning and to prevent reoccurrence.
- Manage the Safety & Environmental Observations process ensuring that effective preventive controls are identified and implemented, and that regular feedback is given to employees.
- Liaise with other Company Health & Safety employees to ensure consistent safety practices which are in-line with best practice.
- Define the scope of performance improvement projects in agreed areas and manage projects to deliver goals.
- Promote and advise on environmental legislative requirements, best practice, energy reduction and conservation throughout the company.
Ideal Candidate:
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety OR NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management (Environmental Management Certificate) or equivalent.
- Competent/Qualified to carry out Risk Assessments, PUWER Assessments & COSHH assessments.
- Internal Auditor Knowledge and Operation of Management Systems ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.
- Working Knowledge of Legislation (Acts, Regulations, ACOPs & Guidance).
- Experience of health and safety in a hands-on operational environment.
