We’re seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing team in the engineering sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional to contribute directly to the success and strategic direction of a fast-paced business unit, as part of a larger UK based group.

The Role

In this broad and influential position, you’ll act as a key financial partner to operational leaders, turning data into insight and insight into action. You'll take ownership of financial planning, support project teams with costing and reporting, and play a central role in budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.

In addition to leading and mentoring a small team, you will be involved in everything from overseeing cash flow and tax compliance to guiding operational efficiency and ensuring solid financial governance. Your ability to build strong relationships across departments will be essential as you support the team in delivering sustainable growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Producing clear, timely financial reports that inform leadership decisions
  • Leading budget cycles and financial forecasting processes
  • Supporting project teams with financial tracking and performance analysis
  • Managing cashflow, invoicing, and credit control activities
  • Coordinating tax and audit processes in collaboration with external advisors
  • Developing internal controls and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Supervising a small team, fostering professional growth and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

About you:

  • Qualified or Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, ideally with experience in project-based sectors
  • A keen understanding of business drivers and how to translate numbers into actionable insight
  • A solid grasp of tax, payroll, and general accounting principles
  • Comfortable working with systems and Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience of leading and developing teams will be an advantage
