Cherry Professional is delighted to be working with an established, friendly accountancy practice in Derbyshire looking to hire an Accounting Technician to join their Small Business Team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with owner-managed businesses and wants a varied role preparing accounts and ensuring clients remain compliant with Companies House and HMRC requirements.
The role involves supporting a portfolio of small business clients, taking responsibility for the preparation of accounts and related compliance work, while providing a professional and responsive service throughout the year.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for a range of small business clients (primarily owner-managed businesses)
- Ensuring accounts and submissions are completed accurately and on time for Companies House and HMRC
- Preparing or assisting with corporation tax computations/returns (depending on experience)
- Producing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reviewing client records to identify issues and improve accuracy
- Liaising with clients to gather missing information and resolve queries efficiently
- Supporting colleagues across the Small Business Team during peak periods
