Our client is a progressive organisation based near Bolton, Greater Manchester, looking to recruit a Senior IT Systems Administrator who will take a hands-on role in supporting, enhancing, and developing their IT infrastructure. You’ll be joining a close-knit, collaborative team that’s passionate about doing things properly, balancing operational reliability with exciting project work and future-focused improvements.
Position Overview: This role offers the autonomy to make meaningful changes, lead technical initiatives, and be part of a culture that values continuous improvement and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keeping core infrastructure running smoothly and securely
- Leading system upgrades, patching, deployments, and documentation
- Enhancing disaster recovery and backup processes
- Supporting the development of new physical sites
- Acting as the senior escalation point for IT support issues
- Driving innovation and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Creating technical documentation and playbooks
