Owns how, where and when CheqUp shows up. Makes the content.
This role owns the day-to-day execution of CheqUp's social and community presence: running our channels, making the content, participating in the communities where weight health conversations happen and keeping our UGC pipeline flowing.
It works to an editorial direction set by the Content Lead, who owns what CheqUp says; this role owns how, where and when it shows up. It sits within Customer and Marketing and is measured on channel performance, brand awareness and contribution to acquisition.
What You Will Do
Run CheqUp's social channels end to end across Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn: content production, scheduling, publishing, community management, comment and DM handling, and audience growth.
Make the content. This is a hands-on creation role and the number one skill we are hiring for. Produce social-first static and video assets yourself, quickly and to a consistently high standard, using tools like CapCut and Canva. Brief design resource only for heavier production. Your work should feel made for the platform, not adapted to it.
Feed and execute the editorial calendar. The Senior Content Lead owns the calendar; you bring the platform insight that shapes it and you deliver the social slots from production through to publishing.
Turn editorial takes into live content, fast. When a news moment breaks, the Senior Content Lead decides the position; you get it onto the right channels in the right format within hours and manage the engagement that follows.
Be CheqUp's daily presence in online communities such as Reddit and Mumsnet, working to an approach agreed with the Senior Content Lead. Listen, track sentiment, contribute honestly and usefully over time. Never promotional.
Run the UGC operation. Find members willing to share their stories, manage consent with care, brief content production and keep UGC feeding paid social, organic channels and the website.
Work day to day with our paid media team and agency: supply the organic winners and UGC that convert best in paid, and feed paid performance learning back into organic content decisions.
Amplify PR coverage across social and flag community chatter or platform signals worth a PR angle to the Senior Content Lead.
Be first responder on negative sentiment. Spot it early, hold the line in comments with judgement and warmth, elevate per playbook.
Report on channel performance: reach, engagement, community sentiment, content-level learnings and acquisition contribution where the data allows.
What You Will Not Do
Editorial strategy or CheqUp's point of view ( Content Lead).
PR agency management or media relations (Content Lead).
Newsjacking judgement or drafting the position (Content Lead).
Technical SEO or GEO strategy (Growth team).
What Success Looks Like
Channel health: audience growth, reach and engagement across owned channels.
Volume and quality of content produced against the calendar.
Community sentiment and standing across Reddit, Mumsnet and other target spaces.
UGC pipeline: volume, quality and rate of feeding paid, organic and web.
Contribution to acquisition through organic and community channels.
About YouThis role is for you if...
- 3 to 5 years hands-on social media experience, ideally with time in a DTC or health-adjacent brand.
- A maker with taste. You produce genuinely good content yourself, at pace, and you know the difference between decent and mediocre when you see it.
- A portfolio of social content you have made yourself, across static and video, is essential. We will ask to see it and it will carry more weight than anything you tell us in an interview.
- Comfortable being the solo hands-on person for social, not managing a team. You take a clear editorial direction and run with it without needing to be re-briefed at every step.
- Genuine fluency in online communities, especially Mumsnet & Reddit. You understand how trust is built in those spaces and what destroys it.
- Comfortable working within a regulated category. You flag early, know what to check and don't treat guardrails as the enemy of good work.
Interview Process
Initial Google Meet with Brand and Propositions Lead
Second interview with Customer and Marketing Director, possibly another team member. This may be Google Meet or could be in person.
Possible task and final interview. The task is to show ways of working, and will not be a CheqUp task.
About Us
CheqUp is a weight health company. We combine clinically appropriate treatment with a Clinician, a Health Coach and structured daily tracking through The CheqUp Method, instead of providing prescription options in isolation.
Our mission is simple: to help people live well, without the weight.
We win together- Every role matters. Every person counts. We show up, give our all and move forward; together.
Progress over perfection- We stay curious, test bravely, and learn as we go. Real change takes time and we’re here for all of it.
Energy with purpose- We show up with intent and move forward with care. What we do matters more than how loudly we do it.
Make space for joy- Meaningful work is made better by moments of joy. We celebrate achievements, enjoy the path, and grow through every experience.
People first, always- We put people before promises. We listen and support them with care and respect.
How We Work
This role is hybrid. Working from the Southampton hub and from home. We use Google Meet for a lot of meetings and use Slack to communicate regularly.
Right for you if:
You’re a self starter, motivated and creative. You have an empathy for our audience. You understand when it’s appropriate to hop on social trends. You can show measures of growth in previous roles preferably in a D2C business. Bonus if you understand regulations and working to ASA guidelines.
Not right for you if: You want to be the face of our content. Or if you rely on design resources rather than creating and editing yourself. This is a hands on role.
