Chepstow Racecourse is seeking talented and experienced chefs to join our dynamic culinary team. This is an exciting casual opportunity for chefs with a passion for producing high-quality food and delivering exceptional service during race day events. You’ll work alongside our skilled culinary team to create outstanding dining experiences for our guests, in a fast-paced, lively atmosphere. Whether you’re crafting delicious dishes, handling stock, or ensuring health and hygiene standards are met, this role offers variety and the chance to showcase your culinary skills in one of the most vibrant and unique hospitality environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral part of a busy, collaborative kitchen team to deliver exceptional quality meals for race day guests.
  • Follow recipes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of food.
  • Maintain hygiene standards and ensure compliance with allergen and health regulations.
  • Manage deliveries, stock rotation, and handle compliance paperwork.
  • Adapt and assist in other kitchen areas when required, ensuring smooth service across all stations.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive team atmosphere, ensuring that guests enjoy an outstanding culinary experience.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: At least 2 years in a professional kitchen environment, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Desired: Working in a fast-paced sports & leisure environment.
  • Skills: High attention to detail and ability to follow recipes to produce quality, consistent food.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations, HACCP procedures, and allergen reporting.
  • Food Safety Certification: Level 2 Food Safety (or equivalent). We do provide training if necessary.
  • Communication: Good oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Work Ethic: Enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to develop your skills while also helping others.
  • Team Player: A positive, approachable attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Uniform: Has clean and presentable chef whites & knives.
