Chepstow Construction and Maintenance (CCM), the civil engineering division of Chepstow Plant International, are seeking to employ a Works Manager to manage the safe and efficient operations of small to medium civils and utilities type projects. For the right candidate, it’s a great opportunity to work amongst a flexible and dynamic operational team, along with long-term blue-chip utility and civil engineering clients, as the company targets a period of sustainable growth. An attractive remuneration package is offered for the successful candidate and would be discussed upon interview.
Candidates should have experience and/or knowledge of the civils & construction industry, with the ideal candidate having formal relevant qualifications to support their experience. The position will report directly into management and training, where required, will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Day-to-day management of site activities and operatives, supervising direct labour and subcontractors across the relevant sites.
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programmes on time and to budget.
- Produce and manage site-specific RAMS and ensure compliance on site, whilst maintaining high standards of health & safety on site.
- Preparing and updating short-term programmes and work plans to ensure correct monitoring progress and reporting to senior management.
- Coordinating materials, plant, and deliveries.
- Carrying out site inspections and quality checks.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Identifying and resolving site issues proactively.
- Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Works Manager, or Site Manager, with experience within the Civils / Construction sector.
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge & willingness to attend training courses, where required.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and deadlines & able to prioritise.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and help manage personnel.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred) | First Aid at Work (preferred).
