Job Description
Pallet Repair Operative – South Ockendon (RM15)
Salary: £27,710.00 + 20% shift allowance = £33,252 per year
Shifts: Double Days, Mon–Fri (6 am–2 pm / 2 pm–10 pm, weekly rotation)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Location: South Ockendon, RM15 (commutable from Rainham, Dagenham, Romford, Greys, Basildon, Brentwood & surrounding areas)

About the role
We’re looking for a Pallet Repair Operative to join CHEP – the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You’ll inspect and repair pallets in a fast-paced, target-driven production environment, utilising hand tools and collaborating with automation and new technologies.
What you’ll do
- Inspect and repair pallets using hand tools
- Apply safe working practices and meet safety standards
- Maintain quality and production targets
- Perform manual handling and housekeeping tasks
- Support automation processes and adapt to new technologies
- Uphold professional conduct and timekeeping standards
What we need from you
- Experience in a production or repair environment preferred
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks
- Safety-conscious and reliable
- Able to work to quality standards in a fast-paced setting
- Willingness to learn and work with automation
- Experience in using power tools and hand tools would be beneficial
