Shifts: Double Days, Mon–Fri (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm, weekly rotation)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Asda Import Centre, Dabholm Rd, Middlesbrough, TS6 7RU (commutable from Stockton, Redcar, Hartlepool, Darlington, Sunderland & surrounding areas)

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced FLT Driver / General Operative to join CHEP – the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You’ll be operating forklifts safely to support production operations and service hauliers, including vacuum lift operation to sort CHEP pallets to specific standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations
  • Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading
  • Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs
  • Sort stocks to correct standards following specific guidelines
  • Ensure trucks and equipment are well maintained; report operational problems including damage to truck or property
  • Carefully handle and store company hire stock while following required stock rotations

What we need from you:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse yard (or similar) environment
  • Strong communication skills with hauliers
  • Minimum 2 years’ counterbalance forklift operation experience
  • External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) – up to 5 tons (B1) or equivalent
  • Reach Forklift Qualification (desirable)
  • RTITB trained (desirable)
  • Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work to quality standards
