We are hiring to create software research and development labs in a few different areas. These are true R&D labs in the sense that they will be expected to produce commercial products. We are still early on in the process, so the current focus is on building development teams for implementing proof of concept and example systems with some of our existing technology.
We are looking for a number of Computational Linguists to work on projects in the following areas:
- Detecting coordinated disinformation
- Detecting implicit bias in online sources
The areas overlap and teams will be expected to work across projects. Some example tasks that these projects involve include, but are not limited to:
- Building complex chat-bots to solicit information from the public
- Fusing data from various sensors / sources (to begin with this will be text but may also include speech further down the line)
- Developing sets of linguistic features to detect implicit bias
This may include improvements of existing approaches, for example quote attribution or subject/object identification, or the development of novel ideas. Team members are expected to think on their feet and not be afraid to try new things. If successful, there is the potential to collaborate on patents.
Responsibilities align with pursuing research and development in the stated areas and across projects as described above.
