Our school motto is “Think for yourself; act for others”; these are not empty words, but an essential foundation of how Cheney School operates.
If you have a passion for mentoring young people, navigating difficult conversations with patience, and maintaining high expectations, we would love to hear from you. Working collaboratively under our Behaviour Manager, the successful candidate will provide both rapid-response and structured interventions across the school to foster a safe, inclusive, and reflective learning environment. This position will work during term time, plus 5 additional INSET days.
What skills and experience are required:
- You will need to be good at talking to people, like children and want to work in a genuinely diverse community.
- This requires enthusiasm, compassion and patience, combined with the ability to say no with kindness.
- You will work most frequently with our most vulnerable children, and you will make a significant difference to their lives, although they probably won’t tell you this.
What we can offer:
- We offer a positive and supportive workplace with an exceptionally supportive and open-minded staff body.
- Visitors always comment that people like each other at Cheney.
- We provide excellent opportunities for career progression, training and advancement; the range of Continuing Professional Development is second to none.
