Description of Duties:

  • Administrative Duties: Record the main EH&S performance indicators at European level and present the facts and preventive/corrective actions during the monthly meeting.
  • Compliance: Organize, coordinate and monitor internal and external audits in matters of environment and safety. Advise management plants to maintain ISO 14001 certificate and pass the Global Safety Standard of CCC.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Assist department heads in their safety meetings. Advise management on worker training.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Ensure Management of Change (MOC) procedure is applied by all the departments. Participate in the revision of the HAZOP analysis.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Initiate, propose and monitor short-term (annual) and long-term (five-year plan) safety and environmental objectives. Coordinate and ensure the implementation on UK sites of Environmental and Safety tools and practices from the Group.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Lead the investigation after any incident, accident or near miss and report in the Incident report database. Analyze the causes to define the prevention countermeasures. Lead the investigation of any environmental discrepancies in terms of emissions, waste, pollution and spills. Report the findings in the incident report database and define the countermeasures.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Be the main point of contact with the authorities or legal agencies of the environmental and labor inspectorate to handle complaints, new permits, litigation and maintain a good relationship. Issue required reports for the UK authorities and other relevant organizations, including the yearly sustainable development reporting.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety: Establish new contracts with subcontractors for environmental matters (GHG/CO2 emissions, analyses, measurements, waste management, etc.) and monitor contractors, including auditing and reporting in Supplier Evaluation Report database Lotus Notes.
  • Legal Compliance, Contract Reviews and/or Oversight: Carry out and regularly update all the risk assessments of the 3 factories. Analyze the risks (determine the appropriate preventive measures). Use, supervise and track the sub-contractors or the consultant to ensure progress is made. Issue a monthly activity report.
  • Training & Development: Champion Safe Start training and provide support to plant management in deploying training to blue- and white-collar workers. Educate and oversee employees on environment, health and safety procedures and regulations. Perform prevention plan with sub-contractors. Encourage and promote safety behaviour and the use of safer work equipment, materials and supplies.
