Chemring Energetics UK is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers. A rare and exciting opportunity is available for a Project Engineering Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Head of Site Engineering, the Project Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Project Engineering team and ensuring the successful delivery of the site CAPEX programme. This role is critical in ensuring that plant, facilities, and installations meet the required regulatory, safety, and operational standards for specialist materials and processes.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager ready to take full ownership of a dynamic CAPEX programme. At CEUK, you’ll lead a talented team of Project Engineers and technical specialists, driving projects from initial concept through to successful commissioning. With safety, excellence, and innovation at the core, you’ll play a key role in delivering advanced engineering solutions.

  • Lead and develop the Project Engineering team, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management, while ensuring effective use of external contractors to deliver safe, compliant, and timely outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver detailed project plans, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, monitoring costs, controlling scope changes, and ensuring financial and programme targets are met.
  • Oversee engineering design assurance, ensuring all designs are safe, compliant, and meet project requirements, with all changes managed through formal MOC processes.
  • Act as the key interface between internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, providing clear communication on progress, risks, and project outcomes.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards, company policies, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact on delivery, cost, and schedule.

You will have a strong commitment to Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, a solid understanding of organisational policies, procedures, and compliance expectations, and be degree-qualified with relevant experience in an engineering discipline. You should possess a strong breadth of knowledge across multi-discipline engineering practices and standards, a proven track record in project management within engineering environments, and be highly competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). A working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and application, along with a professional project management qualification, is also required.
