Project Engineering Manager

Key Accountabilities & Duties:
- Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
- Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
- Manage Project Engineering Team personnel in line with Company Policies and ensure the development of individuals to meet the needs of the business.
- Preparation of a detailed Capital expenditure programme for the site which delivers to the CEUK budget.
- Managing the Capital projects through to engineering commissioning and transfer to the receiving department when ready.
- Ensure that all appropriate plant & facilities information is supplied to the engineering drawing office in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that regular structured communication is undertaken across the Plant & Facilities function.
- Ensure compliance with Group, Company and legislative Environmental processes and procedures for Ardeer.
- Responsible for carrying out all direct staff objectives and reviews.
The Candidate:
- Must have personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and co-ordinate their resolution before they become an issue.
- Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit.
- The ability to lead, build and develop effective relationships and use these to improve performance.
- Strong IT, communication and team working skills.
- Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance.
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree/HND/HNC or relevant experience in an engineering discipline.
- Broad knowledge base of civil and engineering practices and standards.
- Project Management.
- Design Review Experience.
- IT Skills (esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Risk Assessments.
- Experience of dealing with people issues.
- Working within multi-functional teams.
