Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review financial reporting information, including weekly cash forecasting and foreign currency forecast reporting.
- Conduct month end close procedures including ledger reconciliations.
- Report and track budget performance and provide variance analysis, partnering with department heads to review overhead expenditure against targets.
- Work closely with operations teams to understand cost drivers and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency.
- Prepare comprehensive financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with department heads / budget owners to create annual budgets.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies including the Chemring Group plc Code of Conduct, BACM and Finance Manual.
- Support and develop junior team members, leading in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Manage the purchase ledger function and day-to-day activities within Finance.
- Stay up to date with Accounting Standards including IFRS and ensure compliance with reporting standards and financial governance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within the finance department.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to support the team.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Chartered Accountancy Qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA (part or fully qualified).
- Audit background/experience; experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse data; Power BI experience desirable.
- Able to problem solve and develop/implement solutions individually and in a team; experience of managing a team.
Working pattern
This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility is critical to supporting the team.
