Senior Electrical Engineer – Chemring Countermeasures
Overview
Chemring Countermeasures is a world leading and innovative company, designing and developing countermeasure solutions to armed forces worldwide. We are part of the Chemring Group of companies with a global infrastructure to support our work.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, carry out and facilitate electrical planned maintenance tasks, EICRs, shutdowns and installation work in line with current schedules
- Plan and organise follow-up work derived from planned inspection and testing tasks
- Carry out and oversee electrical installations ensuring compliance with BS7671, including management of contractors
- Attend to electrical plant breakdowns
- Carry out minor project work (e.g., building rewiring, new equipment installations, process and asset movements, machine upgrades, CCTV installations, energy management, etc.)
- Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers, site supervision, Engineers, Maintenance Engineering Manager and Principal Electrical Engineer
- Comply with all health and safety and environmental procedures and regulations laid down by the company
Senior Electrical Engineer Specification
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Time served apprenticeship (ONC, NVQ or equivalent) Electrical
- CompEx – EX1-4 or 5-6 (EX14 preferred)
- IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
- Electrical Testing and Inspection – City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent
- IOSH Managing Safely preferred
- Must not be colour blind
- Previous electrical role experience
- Experience in an automated process environment
- Experience in maintenance plan execution
- Knowledge of ATEX
- Knowledge of DSEAR Regulations
- Compex Certificate (Gas & Dust)
This role is worked over a 4.5 day week: Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:45 and Friday 08:00–12:30. Flexibility is critical to supporting the team.
