Production Buyer
Keep production moving. Drive supplier performance. Make a real impact.
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Production Buyer to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, at the right cost. Working closely with Production Planning, Operations and Engineering, you'll build strong supplier relationships, manage supply risks and support the smooth delivery of our manufacturing programme.
What you'll do
- Source and procure materials and services to meet production demand.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial agreements.
- Manage supplier performance, OTIF and risk.
- Proactively resolve shortages and expedite critical orders.
- Identify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support inventory optimisation and engineering changes.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
What you'll bring
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in manufacturing or defence.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as D365 or SAP.
- CIPS Level 3 or above.
